Standard Two
Summary: In standard two, the main point was to address that teachers need to reflect on the way they teach. In other words, we are not perfect and just because something has worked, does not mean it will always work. We need to make sure to change things when needed and adapt to out students and environment. Under this statement teachers should look at the way they assess student work, make things personal, adapt, and include technology to best fit student needs.
Reflection: I think as a teacher, one common goal among the profession is to make sure students understand why something is being taught to them and also be able to observe that either they did learn what was taught or they did not learn what was taught. If students can reflect back and understand these two skills, the teacher has mastered the art of teaching, especially if students learned without feeling like they had to learn. This is what standard two for teachers is about, making sure we design, develop, and evaluate out teaching to maximize output for students. If we focus on teaching things that are relevant, personalized, and include variety as well as technology, we will optimize learning. It is important for teachers to want the best for students and if they follow these ideas then they will have more teaching moments.
